Types of Skin Cancer
Skin cancer is a disease, which develops mainly due to a result of long exposure to Ultra Violet (UV) rays of sun. This exposure to sunlight causes the swift growth of skin cells, which get out of control and ultimately result in the formation of a cancer type tumor on skin surface. There are many people getting different types of skin cancer every year. The outlook and nature of every cancer of skin is different. There are three types of skin cancer, given below:
• Malignant Melanoma: This category of skin cancer gives diagnoses lesser than 10%. It mainly develops in the melanocytes cells, which produce melanin. It begins when there is some problem in the process of cell division and the melanocytes begin to divide and multiply enormously. This leads to the development of a tumor on the skin. The appearance of tumor is like a big mole of brown color and it can occur on arms, back, legs or face of a human being. Its shape resembles to a mole, but color gives the variation for the case of a tumor. They are also larger and more uneven in shape and size. This is the dangerous in all types of skin cancer and if not treated quickly, can cause deadlier skin cancer problems.
• Basal Cell Carcinoma (BCC): It is the most common type of skin cancer and has an account for about 75%R of all diagnosis. The main reason for this problem is the uneven basal cells in epidermis and the formation of a cancerous tumor on the outer surface of skin. It appears like a red ulcer on skin, which can get itching, bleeding or crust. This cancer appears on the body, which is mostly exposed to sun and specifically occurs on the region of face, arms or legs. It is the most common kind of skin problem and rarely kills humans. If not treated on time, it can leave the skin to look disfigured.
• Squamous Cell Carcinoma: This skin cancer type has a 15-20% probability between skin cancers. The main cause of this disease is that the squamous cells of the outer layer of skin begin to grow in an uncontrollable way, which leads to the formation of a cancer tumor. It resembles a hard red lump or creates scales or scabs on the skin. Similar to BCC, these cells appear on the body parts exposed to sun. It is not a deadly disease. It can spread to other body areas, if not treated immediately.
